All proceeds from the Doggy Diamond Jubilee High Tea will go to the new WSPA initiative Collars Not Cruelty.

In nearly every part of the world, people and dogs live together – but in some communities that bond is being tested. Twenty million dogs are brutally killed every year and fear of rabies is often used as the excuse. That's 38 dogs killed every minute. People think it will stop rabies. It doesn't. Killing dogs in response to rabies has never been shown to eliminate the disease. But rabies is completely preventable. There is a scientifically-proven, humane alternative to fear and cruelty – it's vaccination. The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) has launched the Collars Not Cruelty campaign, a global initiative to establish dog vaccination programs in countries where dogs are killed in response to rabies.

A world without rabies does not mean a world without dogs. WSPA protects all dogs by vaccinating and identifying them with red collars. This way the community knows which dogs are rabies-free.

WSPA has run successful vaccination projects in Bali (saving more than 210,000 dogs) and Sri Lanka (vaccinating more than 14,000 dogs). Since November last year, WSPA has been working in various cities across Bangladesh vaccinating dogs. Already more than 20,000 dogs there have been saved from cruel deaths. You can help us do more. Just $5 is enough to vaccinate and collar a dog.

When you give your dog a new collar, it means you care. When WSPA gives a dog a red collar, it saves lives. Help us replace cruelty with red collars: a symbol of vaccination, safety and hope.
